St. Peter the Apostle Church takes great pride in its vibrant music program for young people and for adults of all ages. As ministers of music, our cantors, choir members, and parish instrumentalists strive to lead and enrich the assembly’s sung prayer.
Participants in our Music Ministry find a deep spirituality in preparing sacred music throughout the liturgical year and enjoy the friendship of other choir members.
If you like to sing or are a skilled instrumentalist, we would love to have you participate in this ministry! You will be making a commitment to both rehearsals and liturgies, so expect to work hard at rehearsals and to be reliable.
MUSIC MINISTRY – Adult singers and instrumentalists join together each Thursday evening to rehearse music for up-coming weekend Masses. Singers then participate in one of two Adult Choirs: the Saturday 3:30 pm Mass choir or the Sunday 10 am Mass choir.
YOUTH CHOIR – A lively choir and band that sings each Sunday at the 12 noon “Family Mass”. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 5 to 6 pm. For college age, high school, and middle school singers.
CHANT CHOIR – Leads traditional and contemporary chant for Eucharistic Adoration on the First Friday of each month. Rehearsals are on the first Friday of each month 1 to 2 pm in the church. The choir then returns that evening for our Holy Hour at 6 pm.
SPANISH CHOIRS – Choir rehearses once a week on Fridays at 6pm at Church. Choir members sing in one of two Masses in Spanish: Saturday at 6:30pm or Sunday at 2 pm.
HAITIAN CHOIR – Rehearses Monday evenings and sings at the Mass in Creole each Sunday at 3:45 pm.
